Q & A - Music in the Children's Ministry

My child doesn't really enjoy singing, but LOVES to play the violin/piano/guitar.  Is there any way for him/her to be involved in the Worship Services?  Yes.  The congregation truly enjoys musical offerings from our young people!  Also, many of our children's choir pieces include parts for instrumental accompaniment and we are always happy to include talents outside of singing.  Hand chimes are another fun way for your child to participate.  Feel free to talk to either the Director of Music - Michael Eglin, or the Children's Ministry Director - Sarah Eglin, to find a suitable date for your child to offer his or her talent!

We can't commit to choir rehearsals. Are there other musical activities/events that we can be involved in?  First Sunday Sing!  Waving of the Palms!  Parish Night Broadway Program!  These are all ways to join in on the fun even if you cannot make it to regular rehearsals throughout the year.

First Sunday Sing: 9-9:15am, the 1st Sunday of every month - with Deborah Bertling and Peter Bertling.  Kid's go straight to Sunday School and sing great hymns of the faith and praise songs.

Waving of the Palms, Palm Sunday, March 16th: All children will be learning a song in Sunday School classes to sing together for Palm Sunday as they enter the worship services.

Parish Night Broadway Program, April 18th: The Children's Choir has been invited to be a part of the Sanctuary Choir's annual "It's Broadway" Musical Review.  Any other children interested in participating are welcome to join us.  Solo and group selections will be chosen from musicals such as Seussical, Charlie Brown, and Peter Pan.  Please sign up with Sarah Eglin by February 24th.
